New 'Bourne Legacy' Trailer: Five Key Scenes

Spy series continues without leading man Matt Damon, and from the looks of the most recent trailer, it might actually pull it off.

Of all the summer's potential blockbusters, "The Bourne Legacy," the Matt Damon-less continuation of the spy series, has the most to prove. Series tend not to fare well once the star exits, but the latest trailer for "The Bourne Legacy" is making us believe that it could buck the trend.

Here are our five key scenes from the new "Bourne Legacy" trailer.

Weisz's Role Revealed
Until now, most of the promo material has focused squarely on Jeremy Renner's Aaron Cross and how there was "never just one." One of the first things this full trailer does is formally introduce us to Marta, the doctor Rachel Weisz plays in the film. (Her hand appeared briefly in the first trailer.) When Edward Norton's Agent Byer decided to liquidate the operation, both Marta and Cross find themselves in harm's way. That's the set-up that eventually brings them together to go on the run.

Connections to the Past
Perhaps the most intriguing element of the new trailer — besides how badass Renner is — has to be the clear connections to the previous film, "The Bourne Ultimatum." Both Corey Johnson, who plays the government crony, and Paddy Considine, who didn't survive the events of "Ultimatum," show up in the trailer. It appears that the events of "Ultimatum" and Bourne's appearance in Manhattan spur the events of "Legacy."

Jason Bourne Again
Speaking of Jason Bourne, there's Matt Damon's face right there in the trailer. The actor has made it clear that he himself won't appear in the newest addition to the series he led through three films, but his headshot does briefly appear on a newscast in the trailer. Director Tony Gilroy told us during our Summer Movie Preview that Bourne's presence would be felt in the early parts of the "Legacy." "What happens in 'Ultimatum' is really the spark that's blowing open the door to this movie because the Jason Bourne story is exploding out into the public," he said. "Being impossible to conceal any further is causing problems for this much larger conspiracy. 'Ultimatum' plays in the background of the very beginning of this film."

Agent Aaron "Moto" Cross
As with the teaser trailer, a good portion of the full trailer focuses on the chromosomal enhancements that have been made to Aaron Cross. He heals quickly, and he can grind a railing with a freakin' motocross bike. Was one of the "inconsistencies" within Treadstone that the characters talk about in the trailer the inability to grind a railing with a freakin' motocross bike?

Matt Who?
If this trailer does one thing particularly well, it silences all of Renner's doubters. His action on display here is definitely on par with the kung-fu antics of Matt Damon. Whether he's on the bike or sliding between buildings or emerging from freezing water with a full beard, Renner looks poised to take the reins in style.

"The Falcon Heavy has more than twice the power of the next largest rocket in the world. As of yet, the Falcon Heavy hasn't flown, but all the parts have been tested. Essentially an upgunned Falcon 9 with additional boosters, the Heavy has lift capability second only to the Saturn 5. On top of the four Falcon Heavy launches planned for the U.S. Air Force this year, the Intelsat contract represents the true dawn of the commercial space age."

It?s a collaborative database of legal documents for anything from a non-disclosure agreement to an apartment lease (and more). You can access and edit the documents, and even sign them as well.

Who is Docracy for?

Docracy is pretty much a web service for anyone (currently anyone American) who needs a legal document drafted, but doesn?t have the finances or budget to hire a lawyer to do it for them. It is time to continue our?MLB?Power Rankings for the 2012 season, which will continue to focus on the top 10 teams in the majors.

Texas Rangers?(This Week: 1, Last Week: 1) -?The Rangers had struggled to score runs over the past week, but they more than made up for it against the Toronto Blue Jays. Josh Hamilton hit another homer, and the Rangers cruised to a 14-3 victory. Games like these are why the Rangers remain #1 on our MLB Power Rankings.

Los Angeles Dodgers?(This Week: 2, Last Week: 3) -?Matt Kemp and Clayton Kershaw get most of the attention, but how about the season by AJ Ellis? He?s got a 944 OPS with an insane 444 OBP, and he?s transformed himself into one of the best catchers in the game. He won?t keep hitting like this, but Ellis is one of the driving forces behind the Dodgers surprising best record in the majors.

Baltimore Orioles?(This week: 3, Last Week: 4) -?Adam Jones gets his extension and drives in a pair of runs. With Jason Hammel close to free agency he has to be next on the Orioles list. At 29-17, the Orioles are one of the best team in the majors, and remain in the top 3 for our MLB Power Rankings.

Tampa Bay Rays?(This Week: 4, Last Week: 7) -?It?s amazing that they?re a game out of first without Evan Longoria. Alex Cobb has done a fantastic job filling in for the injured Jeff Niemann, winning both of the games he has pitched so far.

Washington Nationals?(This Week: 5, Last Week: 6) -?Their offence is one of the worst in the majors, but at least Bryce Harper is starting to hit again. They took game one of a big series against the Atlanta Braves, who are in a freefall right now.

Atlanta Braves?(This Week: 6, Last Week: 2) -?They got swept by the Reds in a four game series, and now they have to beat Stephen Strasburg in order to stay close to the Nats. Chipper Jones went back on the disabled list, and nothing is going right for the Braves anymore. Given how tight the NL East is, another loss could put them in fourth. A bad week might push them out of the top 10 of our MLB Power Rankings.

Cincinnati Reds?(This week: 7, Last Week: N/A) -?A sweep of the Braves and a surprising lead of the NL Central puts them back on our MLB Power Rankings. They?re winning with good pitching and the continued MVP calibre production of Joey Votto. He?s been one of the best players in the National League, and if the Reds make the playoffs don?t be surprised if Votto takes home his second MVP award.

St. Louis Cardinals?(This Week: 8, Last Week: 5)?-?What a difference a week makes. Last week the Cardinals were unstoppable, and now they trail the Reds by half a game. They got swept by the Dodgers and lost 2/3 to the Philadelphia Phillies. They?ve lost Lance Berkman for another 8-10 weeks, and then they lost his replacement Matt Carpenter. Next week doesn?t get any easier, as they face Atlanta for a 3 game set.

New York Yankees?(This Week: 9, Last Week: 9) -?With the victory last night they?re back in third place in the AL East. Which doesn?t sound very impressive, but right now that?s good enough to be the second wild card team. How about the season by Curtis Granderson? 14 homers, 25 RBI, and a 912 OPS. Everybody talks about the successful seasons of Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez, but somehow Granderson always flies under the radar. It?s a shame too, because he?s one of the best players on a loaded Yankees squad.

Cleveland Indians?(This week: 10, Last Week: 10) -?Is it too early to say Shin-Soo Choo is back? With a 900 OPS in May, one of the best all around outfielders in the game is starting to heat up after a forgettable 2011 season. And Cleveland couldn?t be any happier with the timing, as their lead is down to 2.5 games over the Chicago White Sox.

The NBO Chronicles: Party On...

I now have a seven-year-old.

She was going to get Mary Poppins tickets in place of a party. So we went to Mary Poppins with several friends and family members, had a great time, and then I decided that you should really have just a small ice cream and cake party with a few friends for your seventh birthday. I wasn't going to go all out. Just a slightly larger than usual play date at our house one day after school. So that's what I did. A few friends?somehow turned into?seven friends, plus a few younger siblings, because I figured if their other kids were included, the other moms would stay and would be here to help me drink?clean up when it was all over.

The kids?had a fairy?hunt.?They played fairy bingo. They ate pizza. And cake. And ice cream. They completely trashed my house? made themselves right at home, and seemed to have a really good time. And as I?witnessed my daughter's joy, I?was really glad that I had done the small ice cream and cake party.?Even though it really wasn't that small. And even though it ended up being a little more involved than just cake and ice cream. And even though I hadn't really done the math as far as having seven seven-year-olds at my house.? Seven times seven, as you probably know, is forty-nine. And?as it happens, seven seven-year-olds make about as much noise as forty-nine people.

Although I had no idea that seven screaming?seven-year-olds?could make?that much noise, eventually, they do go home, and you relish the opportunity to finally?collapse with a beer?clean up, happy that your soon to be seven-year-old had such a?great day.

That was yesterday. Today was N's actual birthday, so we planned ice cream and cake with us, Uncle Pete, and Aunt Caca.?A few other friends ended up being free and coming by, which happily made our small party a little larger than planned. As Caca left, she told N there would be birthday cake tomorrow at her house. And, oh yeah, there is the family party for all three kids next month.

Though?Jimmy was eager to make today's party a little larger than originally planned, he sometimes thinks that?having all these?parties is overkill.?I mean, how many parties does one kids need? (I should mention that he hightailed it out of here as soon as he heard the first of the screaming seven-year-olds arrive for yesterday's party. I'm thinking he knew the seven times seven equals forty nine thing, and chose not to share that information with me. He always was better at math).??Uncle Pete jokingly (I think) said that he hoped N wouldn't be one of those girls who grows up thinking that her birthday?should be?a month long celebration. The truth is, I think it's too late.? It helps that B and Os' birthdays are within a month of hers, so it?basically is a month long celebration around here. And it will probably continue to be that way for quite a while.

But probably not nearly as long as I think, which is why I plan on celebrating as long as they will let me.

At some point,?they won't?want a party, or won't want to be seen in public with us, or won't want?their friends here since that will involve acknowledging that?they have?actual parents. They'll be too busy, or too old, or too cool.??And so, while I have the chance, I'm going to celebrate.

Am I spoiling them? Maybe just a little. Is it likely to?keep?them from developing into responsible, respectful people who understand that the world doesn't revolve around them? I doubt it.?We don't buy them everything?they want. We don't let?them do whatever they want, and they're pretty clear on how they are expected to act (not saying they actually act that way).

If they think?they're supposed to celebrate?their birthdays for a month, so be it. In fact, I think we should all celebrate our birthdays for a month. What's not to celebrate about being born into this crazy, incredible, turbulent, extraordinary world?

I just hope?they keep inviting me to the party.

Cause otherwise, I'm gonna crash it.

Prostate Cancer: Should You Get a PSA Test?

This week the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) announced its??final recommendation against PSA screening for prostate cancer for men of all ages.?In 2008 the same panel had recommended against PSA screening for men aged 75 and older, but said the evidence was inconclusive for younger men. Alleged abuses tarnish citizenship and naturalization process | San ...

In the city of San Diego and throughout the nation, the citizenship and naturalization process is fraught with red tape and stress for those involved. For many immigrants, though, the process is worth it because they want to be in the United States whether for work, family or other reasons. However, recent allegations have tarnished the image of a better life in the U.S. Some have come out claiming alleged abuses by United States Border Patrol agents. Many people who've already been through the citizenship and naturalization process were targeted by the agents, along with those who may have been undocumented.

The American Civil Liberties Union filed a complaint with the Department of Homeland Security that says Customs and Border Protection agents physically assaulted or abused people in 11 different incidents. According to the complaint, many of the victims were either citizens or legal residents of this country. The complaint is requesting an investigation into the alleged crimes.

One particular incident alleges that a man who possessed a valid visa was "strip searched and chained to a metal bench for three hours." The man received no explanation for the treatment he received. This event had the Chilean man questioning the country in which he was living and comparing it to a country that does not have democracy.

The complaint against the agents comes two years after a 42-year-old undocumented immigrant died after mistreatment by border agents. The father of five was beaten and tased near the San Diego border crossing. A statement from CBP states they have a zero tolerance policy for corruption or any type of abuse within their ranks. They plan to cooperate with the investigation. Hopefully they find a way to prevent this type of abuse so legal immigrants don't have to live in fear of those who are supposed to be protecting those who live in the U.S. legally.

NASA sees Hurricane Bud threaten western Mexico's coast

NASA satellites are providing rainfall, temperature, pressure, visible and infrared data to forecasters as Hurricane Bud is expected to make a quick landfall in western Mexico this weekend before turning back to sea. NASA's TRMM and Aqua satellites have been flying over Bud as it nears the Mexican coast.

NASA's Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) satellite passed above Hurricane Bud early this morning, May 25 at 0429 UTC (12:49 a.m. EDT/U.S.). A large area of moderate to heavy rainfall with rates of over 30mm/hr (~1.2 inches) was revealed in Bud by TRMM's Microwave Imager (TMI) instrument. The rainfall analysis was overlaid on an enhanced infrared image derived from TRMM's Visible and InfraRed Scanner (VIRS) and created at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md. Bud's past and predicted locations are shown overlaid in white. Heavy rainfall from hurricane Bud's slow movement may result in severe flooding and dangerous landslides as it moves over Mexico's rugged coastal terrain.

This visible image of Hurricane Bud was taken by the MODIS instrument on NASA's Terra satellite on May 24, 2012 at 18:15 UTC (2:15 p.m. EDT/U.S.) and shows Bud's eye. Bud's outer bands were already affecting coastal Mexico yesterday.

On May 25, 2012 at 11 a.m. EDT, Bud was still a category two hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson hurricane scale with maximum sustained winds near 100 mph (160 kph). It was moving to the north at 7 mph (11 kph) and had a minimum central pressure of 975 millibars. Bud was closing in on the coast and was near 18.4 North and 105.6 West, about 95 miles (150 km) west-southwest of Manzanillo, Mexico.

Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 35 miles (55 km) from the center, and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 115 miles (185 km). Manzanillo was experiencing rain with sustained winds near 17 mph (27.3 kph) from the southeast at 11 a.m. EDT/U.S. on Friday, May 25.

Several watches and warnings are in effect. They include: A hurricane warning is in effect from Manzanillo to Cabo Corrientes; A tropical storm warning is in effect from Punto San Telmo west to Manzanillo; A hurricane watch is in effect from Punto San Telmo west to Manzanillo; and a tropical storm watch is in effect from Cabo Corrientes to San Blas.

Bud is expected to bring a lot of rainfall as it continues to head for a landfall. The National Hurricane Center expects total rain accumulations of 6 to 10 inches (152 to 254 mm) along the southwestern coast of Mexico with isolated maximum amounts of 15 inches (381 mm). As always with heavy rainfall in this region, life-threatening flash floods and mudslides will be possible.

Along the coast a dangerous storm surge is expected to produce significant coastal flooding near and to the east of where the center of bud makes landfall. In addition, the southern and southwestern coasts of Mexico are expected to experience dangerous swells, surf and rip currents.

The National Hurricane Center (NHC) forecasters expect Bud to make landfall and then turnaround and head back out into the Eastern Pacific Ocean. Once Bud begins interacting with the coast, the Rapid decay is expected as western Mexico's high terrain separates the circulation of the storm. Bud is forecast to become a remnant low in 72 hours and dissipate in 96 hours.

NASA satellites are providing rainfall, temperature, pressure, visible and infrared data to forecasters as Hurricane Bud is expected to make a quick landfall in western Mexico this weekend before turning back to sea. NASA's TRMM and Aqua satellites have been flying over Bud as it nears the Mexican coast.

NASA's Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) satellite passed above Hurricane Bud early this morning, May 25 at 0429 UTC (12:49 a.m. EDT/U.S.). A large area of moderate to heavy rainfall with rates of over 30mm/hr (~1.2 inches) was revealed in Bud by TRMM's Microwave Imager (TMI) instrument. The rainfall analysis was overlaid on an enhanced infrared image derived from TRMM's Visible and InfraRed Scanner (VIRS) and created at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md. Bud's past and predicted locations are shown overlaid in white. Heavy rainfall from hurricane Bud's slow movement may result in severe flooding and dangerous landslides as it moves over Mexico's rugged coastal terrain.

This visible image of Hurricane Bud was taken by the MODIS instrument on NASA's Terra satellite on May 24, 2012 at 18:15 UTC (2:15 p.m. EDT/U.S.) and shows Bud's eye. Bud's outer bands were already affecting coastal Mexico yesterday.

On May 25, 2012 at 11 a.m. EDT, Bud was still a category two hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson hurricane scale with maximum sustained winds near 100 mph (160 kph). It was moving to the north at 7 mph (11 kph) and had a minimum central pressure of 975 millibars. Bud was closing in on the coast and was near 18.4 North and 105.6 West, about 95 miles (150 km) west-southwest of Manzanillo, Mexico.

Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 35 miles (55 km) from the center, and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 115 miles (185 km). Manzanillo was experiencing rain with sustained winds near 17 mph (27.3 kph) from the southeast at 11 a.m. EDT/U.S. on Friday, May 25.

Several watches and warnings are in effect. They include: A hurricane warning is in effect from Manzanillo to Cabo Corrientes; A tropical storm warning is in effect from Punto San Telmo west to Manzanillo; A hurricane watch is in effect from Punto San Telmo west to Manzanillo; and a tropical storm watch is in effect from Cabo Corrientes to San Blas.

Bud is expected to bring a lot of rainfall as it continues to head for a landfall. The National Hurricane Center expects total rain accumulations of 6 to 10 inches (152 to 254 mm) along the southwestern coast of Mexico with isolated maximum amounts of 15 inches (381 mm). As always with heavy rainfall in this region, life-threatening flash floods and mudslides will be possible.

Along the coast a dangerous storm surge is expected to produce significant coastal flooding near and to the east of where the center of bud makes landfall. In addition, the southern and southwestern coasts of Mexico are expected to experience dangerous swells, surf and rip currents.

The National Hurricane Center (NHC) forecasters expect Bud to make landfall and then turnaround and head back out into the Eastern Pacific Ocean. Once Bud begins interacting with the coast, the Rapid decay is expected as western Mexico's high terrain separates the circulation of the storm. Bud is forecast to become a remnant low in 72 hours and dissipate in 96 hours.
